I want to learn how to play the guitar. I have been thinking of this for some time now. I really don’t have many marketable talents, and I think I could get used to strumming along on the guitar.

 

Now I need to decide if I can do this by myself, or if I am going to need to find a teacher. Luckily, with the use of YouTube, it is possible to learn how to play. There are lots of tutorials out there and I have found and started following a few that I like.

 

I really don’t have the money to pay a teacher, or buy a guitar for that matter. Luckily, I have some friends that play, so maybe a few beers their way can persuade them. My roommate has a bass in just sitting in the garage collecting dust. I have slowly been working up the nerve to ask him if he will let me play around with it. So that may cover the instrument side of it. I have thought about going to Pawn shops too. I know that you can usually find some good stuff there.

 

I have never really had much musical talent. I played the Clarinet in the 4^th Grade, and the snare drum in the 5^th. I really wanted to play the trumpet but back then, and probably now, just didn’t have the lungs to pump out the tunes. I love listening to music and can usually sing along. Even if I couldn’t tell you who sings the song or sometimes, even what its titled.

 

I have a huge music collection, almost 40 GBs saved on my external computer hard drive. I love to put pump up the jams and kick back with my air guitar, but in order to make it look like I know what I am doing, I think I should actually learn what I am doing.

 

I truly think that music is a doorway to the soul, and can change lives. Not to mention, impress the ladies...
